Full air conditioning
Holiday World runs hot in summer — mid-90s with full sun is normal in July. After 8 hours of Splashin’ Safari, you want to walk into a cold house, not a stuffy room.
For Holiday World visitors
Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is a fantastic park, and the on-site options book up fast every summer. If you’d like somewhere with a full kitchen, in-unit laundry, full AC, and room for the whole group, the Barn in the Burgh is set up for it.

It’s a 45-minute drive each way — mostly Highway 66 through Ohio River country. Most groups decide that’s a fair trade for a large house with full air conditioning, a real kitchen, and an in-unit washer/dryer.
Built for the trip
Holiday World runs hot in summer — mid-90s with full sun is normal in July. After 8 hours of Splashin’ Safari, you want to walk into a cold house, not a stuffy room.
Make breakfast for the whole family before the park opens, pack lunches in a cooler. Park food prices add up — skipping one family meal a day pays for half the lodging.
Wet swimsuits and towels every day. Wash them at the house each night instead of dragging soaked gear back home or buying replacements on Day 3.
Two bedrooms — including a spacious upstairs loft — make it easy to host a larger group: multi-generational trips, cousins, or multiple families traveling together.
The kids who refuse to admit they’re tired will play ping pong until they collapse. The grown-ups will play cornhole on the patio with a drink in hand.
Smart-lock code — arrive at 11 PM after fireworks, no key handoff, no waiting. Same code for the whole stay.

Multiple hotel rooms
Per-room, per-night
Larger groups usually need two or more rooms during summer. Everyone’s split between spaces. No kitchen for breakfast, no laundry for swimsuits, and you’re paying for each room independently.
